tama si snakeeyes. higher spring rating will mean more wear and tear. kahit reinforced pa GB. sp120 will give you around 380 fps. pwede na yan

The theoretical FPS of the SP120/M120/PDI170 spring is 392.4 FPS. Assuming that all other parts are optimized (i.e. barrel length and ID, piston head, O-ring, Cylinder head, Hop Up assembly etc.)- you will reach or even exceed 400 FPS. The problem is ACM guns is that they are not built to exact tolerance/precision that is why it is often difficult if not downright frustrating to setup China guns with a specific FPS goal in mind. Case in point (medyo OT): my BE Civ AUG is “kargado to the max”- custom “reinforced” plastic gearbox, Tokyo Marui gears, anti-reversal latch, piston head (ported), Type 0 cylinder, stock AUG TM barrel, Classic Army piston body and cylinder head, Guarder AUG air seal nozzle, EG700 motor, PDI 170 and Sanyo Sub-C 9.6 volts 2000 mah batteries. Despite the fact na overkill yung setup ko (foolish ano?) I only get 374 FPS on .20 AIM BBs (10 shot average is 364.2 FPS on the F1 Shooting Chrony). If I transplant just the spring, airseal nozzle and batt to a TM AUG it will surely hit 400+ FPS easily. Why the low performance? The ACM AUG has tons of air leaks and misalignment issues. I’ve already fixed many with Teflon tape but some are really manufacturing flaws and defects that cannot be fixed without changing every part of the AEG to high end alternatives. The lesson to be learned is to be “realistic” when upgrading our beloved ACM guns (I own two and plan to buy more!!!). If your R8’s stock performance is 280 FPS and just by changing the spring and bushings it hits 380+ then that’s an achievement already (regardless if it hits 400 FPS or not) because 100 FPS is nothing to laugh at. Don’t set unrealistic goals (unless you have money to burn hehehe) kasi ma didisapoint ka lang. Upgrade ACM guns with an open mind and you won’t go wrong, because when it comes to price/performance ratio nothing still beats China made AEGs. Just my 2 cents worth.

Tama kayo mga sirs. Pero we also have to be realistic. At a certain performance range nothing will beat the value of the ACMs. That range is from stock (280 FPS)- to midrange (400 FPS). But if your goal is in the upper 400s and onwards- your better off getting the so called HPEGs (i.e. TM, CA etc.). Don't get me wrong guys I'm not saying that our ACMs can't be tweaked to hit as high as High End AEGs. I know someone whose plastic gearboxed BE AUG is at a stable 450+ FPS! But at what cost? Even he is quick to admit that although his ACM indeed is equal to and many times greater than the average TM or CA out there but in doing so has become so unreliable (it breaks and it breaks often) that he went out and got a TM AUG! Sabi na pin kanaku "pang display naniya mu keng bale" itang halimaw nang BE AUG. The lesson to be learned (here we go again- hehehe): if your goal is below 400 FPS then there is no need for you to buy a high end AEG, sayang lang pera mo. Almost all current metal gearboxed ACMs are capable of that. But if you intend to break every established and set FPS limit then don't get an ACM, you will end up spending more money and getting frustrated because you will never be able to use it the way you intend to.

adik ka tlga mark!!! with that very impractical set up you did on your BE aug all i can say....woah! yaku itamung mag na ning NICETY ku yang pekyalaman ku as in kinonvert kyang hicap kasi i just wanted to know how it works hehe adik!
lots of people are already hitting 500 or even 600+ on their METAL-GEAR-BOX ACM aeg's. yeah once you have a metal gearbox shell then use tougher spring, stu gears etc etc etc... you can reach your dream fps, no doubt about it...i've done it, been there and somehow found a very practical set up and that wont even reach 10k-15k kasama na baril dyan. oo magastos pa rin atlis naka-full set up na baril mo kumpara sa hi-end, stock pa lang yan.
na-pm ko na sa yo yung set up na yun rhedd and if you want further clarification lets talk about it minsan sa smash hehe at sana andun yung mga nicety's ahihihihihi...

there's also this fine truth about fps, range and spring combinations that . me and mark discussed after buying our stuff at marina arcade.

ing buri na naman sir rhedd makabusbus yang buldit coke can di ba? so sp130 with systema flat stu gears (1500?) or CA helical stu gears (2500-2700) will do it. gastus!!!...........hehe!!!
nung mag stu gears naka masanting siguru mag sp140 naka mas makatipid ka in the long run.
or lawen mepa range ing baril mu. nung lalagpas neng metung a posti ok ne. halus 120-150 feet ne ita. the distance for most airsoft combat which is roughly more or less 100 feet in my experience kahit sa jungle. cqb much closer of course.

so basically you need to balance your parts structural integrity (naks) vs power struggle. sp140 for the version2 yan ok na dyan, malakas na fps at tatagal na rin gearbox shell and other internals mo, hopefully.
yet if you want a tougher gearbox then go version 3 so that means ak47 (ak47 pimping time!), sig552, steyr aug, g36, etc etc...
yung mga naka dragunov kit last bivy grabe naka m170 pero di pa rin bumibigay or nagkra-crack tm v3 gearbox nila pero every 2-3 months palit sila ng motor.
