Because of too much boredom, di ko napansin na automatic na gumalaw ang katawan ko at nagsimulang mag type automatic ang mga daliri ko....
Introduction
This would be my very first written review with regards to springer rifles.
Look and Feel
The rifle's stock or body has a rubbery finish that grips perfectly when held upon with or without gloves. The rubbery finish also eliminates the "shine" of the rifle's stock.
Outer barrel is aluminum, mount base (where the cylinder is resting) is metal, bolt is metal, end bolt is metal, front and rear sights are plastic, outer barrel tip cover is plastic, trigger is metal, trigger guard is plastic and butt plate is rubber.
Externally, the rifle is really nice. It resembles a Remington Model 700 rifle. The only two things that I don't like are the "MIC" (Made in China) and "Made by JG works" stamps. Well anyway, I got what I paid for.
Internals
The searbox as well as its internals are made of metal with the same material used on ACM AEGs. I hope they'll last long. The searbox has two allen screws for adjusting the trigger sensitivity. The cylinder is openable. No pin-drilling method needed. Piston and spring guide are made of a hard plastic. Piston head is not cap-like (I think the early version, MP001 is cap-like) but an AEG type w/c has an o-ring but not ported. I don't really know if porting a springer rifle's piston head is needed or not...
Performance
When I recieve the rifle, it can put a hole on a c.i.c (coke in can) but the BB can't get pass through it. Accuracy is impressive (I never knew springer rifles are accurate!) and so does the range for a stock rifle.
Magazine feeds very well. Hop is responsive and easy to adjust. Bolt is quite and easy to pull (stock spring).
Optimization
I examined the piston head and the air break was not yet cut off. I cut about three fourths of it, teflon wrapped the cylinder head as well as the base of the cylinder head where the cylinder head o-ring was resting.
Did also some sealing on the hop and applied an electrical tape on the tip of the nozzle (which I also removed afterwards).
Result is BB can now penetrate the bottom of a c.i.c as well as the bottom edge but no change in range.
Mods
Because the rifle doesn't come with a free scope and a scope rail, I'll have to do some changes on the rifle's mount base to fit my old scope rail w/c I've brought in Marina arcade before...
It's not really a mod. Just added two threaded screw holes at the mount base that perfectly matches the allen screws my old scope rail has.
Eventually, it worked.
Summary
All in all, it's a nice rifle. A nice spring rifle. This is my very first spring rifle and I'm glad I gave it a try. For all of you who wants to try a springer rifle, I strongly recommend you the JG BAR 10 if you prefer an old classical rifle. This rifle is good to play with or without scope. Indian style!!! LoLz!
Pictures(640x480)
(sorry I have no cylinder and searbox internal pics. I'll just
take a shot again once I've opened it)
Just ignore the electrical tape...
I got this 3 x 40 scope as a b-day gift from my uncle! Lucky me!
Jarhead style scope cover. Looks great when camo painted!
I must sand those shiny parts though...
This is the actual distance of the shooter's eye to the eye piece
of the scope when peeking at the "jarhead" scope cover
The magazine lock...
Hop up assembly
Searbox...
Allen screw for trigger adjust(front)
Allen screw for trigger adjust (back)
Cylinder release lever (spring guide stopper)
