It's been a while since we made some comments on guns. Just got my stubby several days ago and it was able to play today at mimosa- airsoft extreme site(nice place btw). stock th jg stubby clocked at 350-365fps with guarder chrono that would be equivalent to 380-390fps according to the shop owner.
I said it was able to play 'coz i was not able to use it. I used my 249 PARA hehehe. But i had good comments from the one's who used it. i'll use it next week.
Lets try to talk about the gun for a while. The stubby comes with a plastic body, rubberized grip, rubberized butt (which i think are plus factors), it has a floating rail made ot aluminum i think. theres a battery that comes with it but it wont give you the desired rof since its just 8.4Volts.
internals- wires are a little bit thin like the one's in AK series. hop up is 2 piece plastic with a red hop up rubber( but not the guarder hard hop up rubber). hop up has good seal if your going to test it.
motor has golden eagle written on it and has a very powerful magnet (it can pick up my large wrench). the motor cover has the adjuster sticking out(not good). The GB is colored black with SB markings. its a little thin and not reinforced. it comes with metal bushings, not sure if brass or what type of metal. Gears are standard china made with the sector gears tappet retractor (don't know if thats what its called) larger than/stouter than others. maybe this was designed to delay the tappet plates release a bit. but not if your going to use 11.1volts. you'll need a sector chip if your going to use a lipoly. the bevel gear has bearings attached. good for the high rof you want.
spring guide is metal but without bearings. piston body looks kind of soft. piston head is nice and comes with bearings. the cylinder looks nice and shiny. cylinder head is standard made along with its nozzle. you have to seal them to make sure theres no leak. spring looks like an SP 120
pros of the stubby:
-light weight
-short and can be easily moved around
-good enough fps otb for cqb games
-rubberized grip and butt (to me are very nice)
-no wobble on the front assembly
-powerful motor
-metal bushings(no need to change them)
cons:
-motor height adjuster sticking out
-plastic body
-two piece hop up
-maybe weak piston body
-low voltage battery
one thing though. the range was a surprise 'coz it could reach tangos from a distance even with its short barrel.
